2017 third plan exhibition
Tidings of the blossoms of Edo


Autumn of colored leaves. Mainly on plant picture book which laying upon, seasonal flower were drawn at this time, we display gardening book, pictorial description of noted places. Appreciation and gardening, holiday making for medical use and meal approach in interest in plant of people of the Edo era.



"Ancient and modern times handbook article"
Encyclopedia which Hirokata Yashiro to be known to for shogun's retainer as calligrapher, poet, scholar of ancient Japanese thought and culture, book collector edited. We perform excerpting of associated article from Japanese and Chinese documents and add illustrated map and sleeve notes as needed. We were given to the Shogunate sequentially from (1821) to 1842 (1842) in 1821
.







"Figure of many things classified collection in book form wing"
Sketch collection of pictures of medicinal herbs which Sukeyuki Toda of shogun's retainer drew. We were given to the Shogunate in (1779) in 1779, and this title of a book was given from meaning that it was useful as reference pictorial record of "many things classified collection in book form" which was this grass hand style (Jakusui Inou, Seihaku Niwa edition). We were appointed to (1996), important cultural property of country in 1996.
