Muromachi of impression that is solid in graceful, elegant peace, clear, strict Kamakura, north and south morning when decorum becomes loose, and is excellent. It seems that form, way of writing of kana greatly vary according to the times. Where will this difference come from?

In the present age, we may not be conscious very much, but fictitious name includes role called "letter to write down 31-syllable Japanese poem". From the Heian era through the Muromachi era, role in society of 31-syllable Japanese poem changes into people carrying change, 31-syllable Japanese poem in each time from * (personal) on fine weather (public) and courtesy.

By book exhibition, we investigate that we have relationship with 31-syllable Japanese poem in each time by representative old handwriting work and some borrowing work of the hall including old handwriting handwriting collection of the dead "kendoyotomo" of national treasure, approximately 80 in different background of way of writing by the times of kana.

Conventionally, display of old handwriting is apt to be partial early in the Kamakura era from the Heian era said that it is beautiful of way of writing of kana, but finds each meaning in way of writing of kana in each time for the Muromachi era from the Heian era by thinking about relations with 31-syllable Japanese poem which is contents in the background of way of writing this time.
Please fully thoroughly enjoy form charm of kana of each time from the Heian era to the Muromachi era.
