Industrial arts - "tradition and vanguard" of innovation and modern

"Tradition" that was Japanese industrial postwar base which Kenkichi Tomimoto and Gonroku Matsuda and others "pioneer" built was developed to "traditional industrial arts" by Mineo Okabe and others who inherited it in the Showa about 30s and "avant-garde industrial arts" of Kazuo Yagi and others of art object firing, and new situation that it should be said with "innovation" by new generation writer was born.

By book exhibition, we focus on industrial arts of "the present age" when it absorbed art of ancient people for new sense and introduce 14s Imaemon Imaizumi and Kazumi Murose, sokan喆yu and Akira Yagi and others, various works of today's writer playing an active part at home and abroad. We investigate industrial aspect in the present age to color Japanese culture through the work which took in new material and original technique wealthily in established beauty by the skill of the classic style beauty and tradition.

Mainly on ceramics, lacquer art, metalworking, we introduce approximately 120 points of works of 83 writers while comparing "traditional present age" and two chapters of "modern molding" to become main with two chapters of above-mentioned "pioneer" "innovation" in venue.
