Kuichi Uchida (1844-1875) learned photography in Nagasaki and opened photo studio afterwards in Tokyo, Asakusa in (1869) in (1866) via Kobe, Osaka in Yokohama, 1869 in 1866. We were born in Nagasaki and therefore there was pushing of curtain medicine Ryojun Matsumoto who received nurture and got high reputation by having photographed a lot officials or the nobility who played an active part in the Meiji Restoration.

"Imperial palace" (koujo) is former name of former Edo-jo Castle namely current Imperial Palace. Edo-jo Castle was evacuated in (1868) in 1868 by Meiji new government troop and was renamed to "Tokyo Castle" (toukeijo), and (1869), the Emperor Meiji were renamed with having been entered a fortress formally in 1869, the following day by "imperial palace". Noritane Ninagawa (ninagawanoritane) gives photography by-your-leave to large politicians and bureaucrats to leave figure of former Edo-jo Castle which continues going to ruin other than the western citadel of the castle which is the Imperial Palace as record, and (1871) Matsusaburo Yokoyama photographs in 1871, and it is said that photography increased Kuichi Uchida on this occasion. Photograph of imperial palace to display this time becomes thing considered that 91 photographed than it in Meiji 5-6 age (c1872-1873) after a little.

And it was allowed for (1872), 91 to photograph portrait of the Emperor Meiji as photographer for the first time in 1872. Thing which reproduced this is granted as "Imperial portrait" by local government, school, and portrait photograph of the Emperor Meiji dressed in Western clothes formal dress which we photographed again in the next year is used for modern textbook and history documents.

In addition, in the case of pilgrimage around the thirty-three holy places in the Kinki district, Kyushu Imperial tour of (1872), 91 accompanied as the photographer first of Imperial Household Ministry commissioner in 1872 when the Meiji government aimed at modern centralization nation led by the Emperor and was performed to show that the Emperor Meiji who was ruler for new age invited the new times to various parts of Japan by making a tour of inspection and photographed photograph of Imperial tour ahead much.

It becomes, and, by display, Meiji sees many works valuable as valuable historic record that 91 left for that died young at 32 years old while being predominant in generation early in Meiji including photograph of imperial palace which electric light pole or Imperial Guardsman gun barracks who was just built come out, and was crowded, portrait photograph of the first-ever official Emperor Meiji, empress, panorama photograph of Kumamoto-jo Castle and Nagasaki Port and Kanbe Port, Kyoto Imperial Palace, Arashiyama before meeting fire at people staring at goshokanryu* (ryujo) where the Emperor Meiji who photographed in the case of Imperial tour gets on, southwest position from the Edo era.
