Jewelry of Nakamura Minato: Square, ball, line, aspect

Jewelry of Nakamura Minato (1947-) having "neck ornament" such as armor covering shoulder and unique form including "ring" which it greatly swells out and seems to run down from finger. Contrary to the appearance, we are familiar nicely when we wear and are only thing which it is easy to put on. Thought of Nakamura called "work spreads among all space itself enacted at the time of wearing".

We are tied to sculpture production that Nakamura is parallel as for the clear form to be comprised of line and aspect, globe and pushes forward closely. After having learned sculpture at university, triggered by having been going to make small abstract sculpture, Nakamura came to be engaged in jewelry production. Geometric work which was common to sculpture attracted attention as thing which opened up next-generation expression in tide that material and expression of jewelry diversified. Through private exhibition and group exhibition, we are developing excellent production activity now.

Jewelry produces big sculpture as we surpass stature in studio of the Tokyo downtown area in atelier in Boso Peninsula. Nakamura distinguished sculpture and jewelry clearly and performed private exhibition announcement separately until now. However, in late years it is said that we feel that both approached. In production of Nakamura, what kind of relation will sculpture have with jewelry? By book exhibition, masterpiece introduces past activity mainly on jewelry and takes up the present of production of Nakamura Minato appearing in street of both.
