For 1,913 years when Tsuguji Fujita (1886-1968 years) went over to Paris, a lot of books which assumed original prints such as Picasso or Chagall illustration were the times of the published illustration book prosperity. Nude woman image which we announced in 1921 attracted attention and was praised highly very much as "the splendid milky-white ground", and Fujita wrestled for production of illustration book energetically at the same time to establish firm position in Paris painting circles. In the 1920s, we deal with illustration book that it is more than in 30 points of Fujita, but Fujita is attracted how in the world of illustration book and, judging from illustration book which Picasso dealt with at the same period having been around ten points, is just indicated. We returned home at one time in 1929, and Fujita who settled down in Japan from the next 1,933 years continued work of illustration book while we were rolled up in torrent of the times called World War II till we left Japan in 1949. Japanese literary person, poet who had friendship from the Paris times, most of work (collaboration) with cultured people must have pushed forward writing brush while reminding of memory for the ground called France, and they are various surprisingly, and it is expressed in particular by Fujita's original sensitivity and interpretation.
